Murdoch University is a globally-acclaimed learning, research, and teaching institution in Australia. It is ranked 534th in the Best Global Universities list of U.S. News, occupying the 431 rank in the QS World University Rankings. The university was founded in December 1967 and is now recognized for its impact on research and innovation. 

The University was officially named on July 9, 1970, after Sir Walter Murdoch, the renowned academic and philosopher. The institution has been accredited as above world standard by the Australian Research Council. Murdoch has 25,000+ students and 2,400 staff members from across 90 different nations. 

The institution has Perth, Mandurah, Rockingham, Dubai, and Singapore campuses. It also has the Harry Butler Institute, Health Futures Institute, Food Futures Institute, Ngangk Yira Institute for Change, Australian National Phenome Center, and the Asia Research Center for research and development purposes and infrastructure.

Royal Flying Doctor Services WA CEO, Rebecca Tomkinson, has studied here, along with Dr. Heston Kwong, the Assistant Director at the Department of Health, Hong Kong Government. Dr. Adam Bandt, the Federal Member for Melbourne, studied here, along with Australian television and radio presenter Basil Zempilas.
